Murakami Labs

Quiet apps, kept small on purpose.

We make apps the way a stationery shop folds paper boats, one careful crease at a time. Each one keeps to one small job and never asks for the whole shelf.

About the studio

What is Murakami Labs?

Murakami Labs is an independent studio shipping focused iOS and Android apps. We work in paper-craft visuals and keep each app to one small, well-defined job. We ship one app at a time and build each one carefully, without chasing platforms or feature checklists. Our first app is Polmi, a lecture transcription tool for college students that turns lectures into clean notes and flashcards. The studio runs on three rules: one careful job per app, calm visuals over loud UI, and a deliberate cadence over a busy roadmap.

What we do

Three small ideas. One studio.

Murakami Labs is a label, not a roadmap. Each app stands on its own and shares the studio’s pace and palette.

01

One careful job

Each app keeps to one small job. No platforms, no Swiss-army-knives, no second mode hiding under the first.

02

Cut from paper

Layered cardstock, warm palette, visible grain. Texture is the brand; calm is the point.

03

Folded slowly

One app at a time, eight to twelve weeks each. Built carefully, kept simple.

Featured app

Polmi · Lectures, lifted.

Our first one. Polmi catches the words from a lecture, tidies them into clean notes, and folds them into flashcards you can pass to a classmate.

A cozy paper desk; lecture audio lifts into a cascade of paper feathers.

Polmi

Lectures, lifted.

Polmi catches lecture audio, lifts the words that matter, and folds them into notes and flashcards you can pass to your study group.

Cadence

One app at a time. Built carefully. Kept simple.

We’d rather ship one thing the way we want than ten things we’d need to apologize for.
